Exotic Yoga Retreats with Hillary Wright

France Yoga Holiday

July 3 - July 9, 2016

Experience the Provencal countryside at it’s best on this France Yoga Holiday set in a historic 12th-century Benedictine priory turned boutique villa. It’s the perfect European holiday—fresh mornings walking in the countryside followed by yoga over the olive grove; afternoons free to lounge about the pool, visit local markets or wine-taste and explore classic villages of the Cote du Rhone valley; sublime evenings, with exquisite food & wine shared family-style under the stars!

MORNINGS  begin with coffee or tea and quiet moments in the garden, meditating under an olive tree or joining a serenity walk through the vineyards. Convening on the outdoor yoga deck overlooking the vineyard, we share a deep yoga practice followed by a delicious French brunch under the shade of trees in a beautiful courtyard garden.

AFTERNOONS  can be spent dreamily gazing at the sky as you float in the pool, reading, swimming or enjoying a host of excursions: Explore local medieval towns brimming with cafes, experience a local morning market, expand your palette tasting Provence’s world-famous rosé wines, bike the vineyards of Chateauneuf de Pape and eat lunch at a castle and of course, visit the famous lavender fields of Sault!  We will have three sunset yoga sessions focused on inversions, restorative yoga and pranayama.

EVENINGS  are pure magic, as we share our meal family style under the stars—appreciating the simple life of sumptuous tastes, good food and great company!  You may prefer to drink wine late into the night, or climb into bed early with a book—our Mediterranean-style retreats provide the the perfect setting for you to relax, rejuvenate and be inspired—in the way that fits for you!

Situated in the countryside in heart of the Rhone Valley, near the picturesque villages of Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise and Vaison-La-Romaine, this 8-bedroom classic french villa, originally a Benedictine priory dating from the late 12th century, is now beautifully renovated and equipped with all the modern comforts. Long ago, the monks of the Saint-Benoit de Capella arrived from Lyons, staying in this very building until the 15th century. Now we will enjoy the same quietude and natural beauty, while practicing yoga surrounded by olive trees and lavender fields in the heart of Provence, France!

Rooms are offered on a shared basis, though a limited number of single rooms may be accommodated. Each bedroom is decorated with french countryside furniture, with an en-suite bathroom. Hosted by villa owners — chef, Judy and Rhone wine expert, Philip — you will experience Provence at it’s finest on this France Yoga Holiday!
