Evening 1  — Welcome dinner in Cusco

Meet your fellow yogis and sojourners for an opening dinner we’ll organize at our favorite restaurant in the heart of Cusco! We will each be staying in our own hotel that evening and next morning (29th) we’ll pick you up at your hotel and bring you to our retreat center. We strongly recommend you arrive in Cusco by December 26 or 27 to rest and acclimate to the altitude. We will give you a list of recommended hotels. Cusco is wonderful and safe to wander on your own!

Day 2 — Depart for Sacred Valley & the Moray Circles

After breakfast, a van will pick you up at your Cusco hotel and take you to our retreat center in the Sacred Valley (1.5 hours). En route, we stop to explore the mysterious terraced circles at the Moray archeological site—surrounded by stunning agricultural plains and majestic mountains! We’ll arrive at our retreat center in time for a welcome lunch and an introduction to the lovely Quechua staff who will take care of our needs during our stay. The afternoon is yours to wander the grounds, relax in your lush, garden-side room or select a spa treatment from the resort’s generous menu. We’ll convene in the yoga studio at 4:30 for our opening yoga class, followed by a delicious farm-to-table organic dinner prepared by ingredients grown on site.

Day 3 — Pachamama Day ~ Revitalize Body & Spirit!

This day is dedicated to Pachamama, who represents Mother Earth. After morning yoga and breakfast, we’ll have a guided tour of the phenomenal Chakra Gardens… you have never seen flowers like this! We will unwind, enjoy the spa, connect with nature, nourish our body with healthy meals and deep yoga— and stimulating our spirit with re-leaf readings and a transformative fire ceremony led by a shaman healer from the high Andes. The ceremony serves as a wonderful preparation of mind, body and spirit for your pilgrimage to Machu Picchu.

Day 4 — Mountain Culture & Hiking

Begin this heart-opening day with a drive through the Sacred Valley to an isolated Quechua mountain school, which few tourists are privileged to visit. Cherish the children’s warmth, joy and openness and leave humbled and deeply moved.  Next visit the spectacular ruins in Písac… hike to the ancient Incan Temple of the Sun and meditate with the group, or alone in silent reflection. Rest and relax, or, if you prefer, join in an optional afternoon hike down to the famous Písac market to shop for woven goods, jewelry, wall hangings and hand-painted beadwork. Choose a café for lunch in the market square, where you can observe colorfully dressed campesinos coming to barter and sell their produce. Return to our resort with time for a late-afternoon group gathering and festivities to celebrate the New Year!

Day 5 — Welcome the New Year in a silent morning retreat | afternoon mountain hike

Enjoy deep peace and tranquility in a silent New Year’s morning, with meditation, yoga and time to just “be” in the gardens. As a sojourner, you were called to the Sacred Valley. Today is a gift dedicated to you. In silence, enjoy the pure energy of the Chakra Gardens. Feel Pachamama’s embrace and allow her to whisper her wisdom to your soul. At lunch we will break silence. More active guests may take a 2-hour hike climbing the zigzag paths of the ancient Maras Salt Farms… or indulge in an Andean spa treatment to pamper body and soul.

Day 6 — Journey to Machu Picchu!

After an early breakfast we’ll catch the morning train (a stunning 1.5 hours ride) to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to ancient Machu Picchu. After setting down set our overnight bag down at our hotel, we’ll enjoy a fabulous guided tour of Machu Picchu.  We’ll journey through temples of spiritual power, breath-taking mountains and connect with one of the most spectacular energy places on Earth!  The even will be a celebratory three-course dinner in a fun and lively restaurant in Aguas Calientes, followed by a well-earned deep sleep!

Day 7 — Machu Picchu hike

Free day in Machu Picchu to experience the place exactly as you feel! There are three stunning hikes in Machu Picchu, from moderate to strenuous. You may wish to find a hidden terrace and meditate or practice yoga… this is your moment to discover the strong spirit of Machu Picchu!   We will meet back in late afternoon to take a train back to our resort in time for dinner.

Day 8 — Free day for rest, relaxation & rejuvenation!

Free day for yoga, meditation, a walk into the nearby town of Urubumba to buy local arts, crafts and pottery, or just relax at in the gardens. In the evening we’ll have our closing yoga circle.
Day 9 — Farewell sun salutes, breakfast, and depart by bus back to the Cusco airport.
