I am an international yoga teacher, meditation teacher and writer. I hold the highest certification with the Yoga Alliance, 500 E-RYT, and am currently based in New York City. I am the current Director of Continuing Education for Y7 Studio in New York City. I am also currently pursuing my Masters Degree at Columbia University in Applied Physiology. I am a featured instructor for Exotic Yoga Retreats, and have previously travelled internationally as a Teacher Trainer for Global Yoga Shala, as well as hosting my own international retreats and trainings. I currently lead Teacher Trainings as well as teach group, private and corporate classes in New York City. My writing and guided meditations have been featured on MindBodyGreen, The Today Show, and Elephant Journal and my online yoga course was named "Top 5 Kick-Ass Online Yoga Classes" by 42 Yogis.
I first began practicing yoga almost ten years ago and have been a dedicated student ever since. In 2009, I took my first teacher training and have been sharing my love for yoga since then. A true student of life, I have taken training after training, and eventually pursued a long time goal of mine by traveling to India to study yoga. Although it was one of the most difficult trips of my life, for the first time ever I felt that I actually had space in my head, and was happier than I had ever been. Upon returning from India, I began teaching again, and am now living my dream of being able to spread yoga, health, peace and happiness around the world.
I have taught yoga in many different countries around the world as well as many cities in the U.S. I have completed over 850 hours of training and have studied many different lineages of yoga including Sivananda yoga with Swami Govindananda at the Amboli Ashram in India, Vinyasa Flow with Internationally celebrated yoga teacher Seane Corn and Ashtanga Yoga with many wonderful teachers, most notably, David Swenson.
My classes bring a mix of intelligent sequencing, internal depth, breath work and challenging movement to leave you feeling both energized and grounded. My extensive background studying the Ashtanga Vinyasa system brings a depth to my classes, while my knowledge and understanding of Vinyasa Flow brings a creative twist to the practice. I am a firm believer that although I will guide you through the asanas, the real internal work must be done by you. I teach to all levels, meeting my students without judgement, right where they are today. I strive to help students see that the only limits they have are themselves, knowing that ultimately you are the only thing that can stand in your way.
I teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga and meditation, but my true passion is encouraging my students to move toward stillness. I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” yoga and encourage each student to find their own path. When I am not teaching yoga I love to travel, explore and spend time with my husband and our two cats.
